Meet the fabulous Azucena. She works at Casa Román in Sevilla – a regular stop on both my Sevilla Tapas Tours and the We Love Tapas Tours. One of the many wonderful things about running the tours and my various blogs is meeting people like Azu and being a part of their world. Love my job!

Call it fate but due to an oil spill at Gatwick Airport, instead of heading directly to Sevilla airport after getting back from our Jerez Flamenco Getaway, my friend Jo (aka @MissBishopsGate) ended up coming over to Casa Az for a couple of hours while her flight home got sorted out. This meant that the charming and devastatingly cute Miss Morcilla finally got to meet the elegant Helen Mirren lookalike Miss Bishopsgate and, as you can see, they hit it off immediately.
Of course Loki and Luna also put in an appearance, especially as we got home around dinnertime, but you can see that Morcilla and Jo had a special connection. Next time I’ll teach Jo how to snibble!

Notice token flamenco image in centre of collage ;). But flamenco really was the reason I ended up in Jerez this weekend, with my friend Jo. It turned out Jo was coming down from London for the weekend to take a couple of flamenco dance classes with renowned dancer and choreographer Joaquín Grilo. And as I also had plans to see Sara Baras we decided to make a weekend of it. Every year Jerez hosts this 10-day Festival de Jerez but this is the first time I’ve been. It’s great fun, lots of events going on around the city, which made Jo and I think that maybe next year we’ll come for a whole week.

Twitter magic strikes again! Thanks to the wonderfulness that is Twitter, Sarah and Derek booked a tapas tour with me. And then I found out that they run Bray’s Cottage Pork Pies in Norfolk, UK – home of THE perfect pork pie. And they brought me THREE PIES as a gift. And so I couldn’t just give them my usual tour, and offered them a Deluxe Tapas tour. Five bars in four hours… lots of tapas, lots of chat, lots of fun. And now I can’t wait to try those pies!
