What a great week with two batches of new sherry converts! First up (above) Leigh, Anna, Spike and Alex on a Sherry Tapas Tour (3 bars, lots of sherry, food and fun) and then a Sherry Tapas Tasting (below) with Maria, Steve, Chris, Bert and Pam (shorter version at Casa Morales). Love my job. đžđ»đ„

At last!!! l finally got to meet Ruben @sherrynotes with his friend Joeri @thewhiskyjury at La Azotea when they passed through town this evening. Iâve âknownâ Ruben for years online due to our mutual love of sherry – he is a fellow Sherry Educator, as well as the author an amazing sherry blog – so it was a real treat to meet up and have a chat in person. Thanks for a lovely evening guys! đ

My trip to Jerez last weekend started off with a sherry Cata Magistral on Friday in the patio of the splendid AlcĂĄzar, hosted by Bodegas Lustau and presented by Lustau’s master winemaker Sergio MartĂnez and Carman Aumesquat from the Sherry Council. It was a bit touch and go because rain had been previously forecast but in the end we were able to sit outside in this spectacular setting and enjoy a selection of Lustau wines paired with delicious bites accompanied by a flamenco guitarist. A magical evening.
