repeat 2

It’s always lovely when people return to Sevilla and the first thing they want to do is get together again.  Last weekend I had another tour with Dave & Kate, who had been out with me in 2015, and then today I went out with another “repeat couple” (from 2014), Liliana & Doug. Then Jack & Thomas got in touch, who had  been on a tour with me in 2013 and are coming back for more in July. Must be doing something right!

azahar sevilla

I have spent the past few hours today getting a start on (hopefully) making my Azahar Sevilla website relevant again. I’ve been so focused on Sevilla Tapas the past few years that I kind of let things slip there. Then I got busy starting my We Love Tapas tours and that year also got sidetracked by Azahar Spain. So poor old Azahar Sevilla was neglected and, although still packed full of info, much of that info is in need of updating.

So I took another look at it this morning because I realised that I do have stories to tell about Sevilla. Many I have put up here on Casa Azahar, and some I have already copied to there (less sweary versions 😉 ) but I want to start making Azahar Sevilla a go-to place for people looking not just for information, but also stories, experiences and personal insights into this beautiful city that is my home. Stay tuned!

So this is something I’ve been doing off and on for many years, when friends who have bars, restaurants, hotels or wineries have asked me to help them with translating their stuff into proper English (as opposed to google translate mashups). And over the years I’ve had to learn specific terms and vocabulary used in these fields – translating winery sites and articles has been especially interesting. And so this is a new project which I hope will help keep the wolf at bay. Also, it will be fun to do and will keep me connected with the people I already enjoy working with. Fingers crossed!

twitter birthday

Twitter has just turned 10 and it turns out that it is also my 9th Twitterversary today (as @azahar). To be exact, I signed up at 12.36 pm on March 22nd, 2007. Since then I’ve had various other Twitter accounts and still have these 5 active ones. I know that a lot of people don’t “get” Twitter, but for me it’s been the most amazing social media experience. I’ve met friends and biz contacts, connecting with people all over the world. And I still learn something new every day by reading my various feeds. It’s good to be here.
