What a lovely (it’s never too late! πŸ˜‰ ) birthday present from Anne. A book with recipes by several top UK chefs that include their choices for sherry pairings. I think this is now out of print – it was first published in 2007, coincidentally the same year I started Sevilla Tapas –Β  but Anne found it on her last visit to the UK and thought I’d like it. Thanks so much sweetie!Β  ❀

The last time my friend Sylvie was in town we talked about her coming back to do an article about the evolution of tapas in Sevilla. For awhile it looked like it wasn’t going to happen, then suddenly it was all systems go and before long we were meeting at her hotel for what would become a fun and delicious three-day Tapeo Extremo.

As you can imagine, I was very excited to be a part of this project, but was sworn to secrecy about it until the article was published – which was yesterday! Aside from obviously being pleased at having my tapas tours mentioned in the Washington Post (!!), I was also very excited to see friends and colleagues that I admire getting some well-deserved international attention. Back in September I started a kitchen blog to share recipes with y’all, including some I just made up on the spot. Then the other day my buddy WeeRascal posted some food pics on Twitter of a meal he was making, and it looked so fabulous that I asked if he would like to contribute to the kitchen blog. Which he most graciously did – you can check out his Angus beef & coriander casserole.
