What a lovely surprise to see Ishay again after… 9 years! Last time we were together was in London as part of a Foodie Hub global meet up. Ishay got in touch while I was in Jerez to say she’d be in town for a couple of days with her friend Tuanni and so last night they joined me on a tapas tour with a lovely couple from Australia. We had a great time and it was lovely to her again and catch up. Our last meal together (below) at Kitty Fisher’s in London.

Sometimes my life doesn’t suck… especially when I get an invitation to try out the new seasonal tasting menu at Balbuena y Huerta and I get to invite my lovely friend Reyes Morales to come with me. Honestly my life and my job (one and the same) rarely suck and this is why, because of all the wonderful people I’ve met since starting my Sevilla Tapas website back in 2007. With the recent change in local government we Gastro Guías are doing our best to stay in the loop, finding out who is who now and where we should be. This week we had a great meeting with Javier in his new office at the amazing Costurero de la Reina building.

Honestly the most unexpected team I could have imagined and we are great together. Plans are afoot. Stay tuned.
