It wasn’t all play during last week’s Málaga Getaway. Victor @welovemalaga and I also came up with two fab new tours for our little sister company We Love Tapas. Tell all your friends! 🙂

Say hola to Amoreena @amyalena and Quentin from Texas. I was out for lunch with my friend Eduardo @EBlancoTravel and these two were sitting a couple of tables over. We ended up chatting and were having such a nice time that we also ended up going out to bar Las Teresas for cava afterwards. I gave Q & A some tips on where to have tapas on their last night in town and they had a great time going back to Teresas for jamĂłn and then over to Bodeguita Romero for – what else? – their famous pringá (and a few other things). Lovely meeting new friends over good food and wine.

Of course Edu and I foolishly went on for more cava afterwards… #deperdidosalrio

So many bars, so little time. I managed to visit eight new bars in Málaga. Either brand new, new to me, or a new version of one I knew before. And except for one (spoiled by crap service) they were all delightful. I also visited some of my old favourites, a couple of great breakfast places, and a fab new bar that mostly specialises in vermouth and smiles. I’ll have to go back to that one. Hope to get these places written up soon on Azahar Tapas… Bar Mercado Central N°1, La Luz de Candela, Ă“leo, Señor Lobo, Barra de Soho, VinerĂa Cervantes, Añil CroqueterĂa and the new Uvedoble.

This is my home away from home when I’m in Málaga, my meeting place, my office… Los Gatos. It’s amazing. You can get tasty snacks there, lots of different tapas, full meals (they do great stews and other dishes), lovely wines and the best beer on tap in town. But most of all you get genuinely friendly service. And every time I show up after being away I am welcomed like an old friend. Just like I am the next day and the next. It’s a very special place.
