After all was said and done my “scary” hospital day yesterday turned out quite well. I’d got up early for yoga class and tried to keep busy doing biz stuff at home later, but I was getting more and more nervous as the day went on. And it was silly because I KNEW that this oncology appointment was just going to be about setting up my next PET scan, but unlike going to get my port flushed out (which I can now do on my own!), actually having to talk to the oncologist makes the whole cancer thing feel more real and threatening somehow. But it went well. Had a nice chat with doctor Ana and, after a bit of consternation on her part, she agreed to let me have the scan early in June, which was what I’d been hoping for. I have so many things on the go that I want to know as soon as possible if I’m going to be okay for the next few months. Also, if this next scan is clean, it’ll be the first summer in three years that I haven’t been on chemo…

Meet Niko.
The little point-and-shoot Casio camera I bought back in December 2007 started fucking up about a month or so ago. Been having to click-cllick-click on the clicky button 5-10 times before the damn thing engages and actually takes a photo, which takes way too long – too many clicks – resulting in many missed moments. And half of them come out blurry. Then the other day I noticed that the moulding was actually coming off the top of it and I had to face the harsh reality of getting a new camera…

Remember when I started shopping for the new azahar sevilla store awhile back? Well, finding merchandise turned out to be more difficult than I’d expected, mostly because people making arts & crafts don’t tend to have much of a markup and so cannot offer a wholesale price. And cold calls (even in person) didn’t seem to go over very well. So, although the store has been ready for a couple of months now (thanks Tal!) the shelves are still empty and I was beginning to despair. And then …
